“Welcome to Europe”

On the road near Bosporus (Turkey)

We reached Istanbul and crossed The Bosporus Bridge. We saw the sign “Welcome to Europe”. So this is the beginning of Europe? And in which point of our trip did we leave Europe..?

Huge traffic jam between Bursa and Istanbul (all people coming back from visiting family during Bayram) didn’t want to let us leave Turkey too fast. Speed compared to turtle’s one, hot and boring motorway, sleepy faces in other cars. After this unexpected six additional hours we really don’t have any time for Istanbul.

Then it’s better not to get into this giant city. But even driving with a ring road around Istanbul takes ages. Finally we are at the bridge.

Bridge between… two continents? “Welcome to Europe” – such a sign welcomed us on the other side. What a strange feeling. Somewhere between Black Sea and Sea of Marmara (which is connected to Aegean Sea, which is connected to Mediterranean Sea). Still some hours to reach Bulgaria (called here: “Bulgaristan”! haha!).

Four months ago we left European Union. Soon, after the border with Bulgaria, we are back. Back to what? Blue flags? (we had then in Georgia too) Full of products petrol stations? (we had them in Turkey too) Similar people? (in Ukraine we felt like at home) Back to what?

Our first book is out!

We have published our first book (for now just in Polish:) about our Central America Trip.
