Our car survived with us almost 20 000 kilometers during this trip. In Belgrade it had enough: I’m not driving anywhere anymore, I will stay here! – it said and burned the motor.
We were a little bit prepared for this moment, so many times we had problems with too high temperature but in car workshop in Sofia they still assured us that we will get back home. We won’t. Our car will stay forever in Serbia because repairing it would cost three times more than the car is worth. The insurance company will take care about our car here, the hotel for tonight, our flight back to Berlin and transporting all the luggage. Now we just have to repack all we have, accept the situation and try to find bright side of life: so good that it happened in the very last week of our trip!
Repacking took ages, the final result was: three times 20 kg luggage which we can take to the plane tomorrow plus twelve huge boxes full of all we had with us: beds, blankets, clothes, books, souvenirs… (the company will transport it to Berlin within two weeks).
Can it be? Will we really be home… tomorrow?
Our first book is out!
We have published our first book (for now just in Polish:) about our Central America Trip.
