So here we reached the most eastern point of our trip: still beyond Baku, small town Zira, the Caspian Sea beach and Artyom Island.
The Island is connected with the land with a bridge, so no problem to get there. There is nothing more than rusting boats and industrial wasteland over there but that was a place the most far away from home, around 3100km from Berlin.
Caspian Sea is very blue over there, and those days very hot. Hanna liked it but for us swimming in the warm huge bath was a strange feeling. Also because of religious-tradition reasons you should be careful where you undress yourself and until which point. It’s for sure not east Germany heh.
In village Zira we were lucky to stay at the family of our friends, ate traditional food, listened to stories, learn about habits and traditions. In such a moments it feels that 3000 km can make a big difference. No smiling during your own wedding (that’s for a girl), making good toasts while drinking during dinner (that’s for a guy, Tom was getting better and better), no kissing or touching even your own husband if you are not alone (that was for both of us!) – are just very small examples.
Our first book is out!
We have published our first book (for now just in Polish:) about our Central America Trip.
