The Summer says Hello in Romania

Farmer in front of a wooden Gates in the Vadu (valley) Izer / Romania

Real summer together with first night sleeping in the car. Night with adventures because maybe around 3am four young shepherds decided not to let us sleep, where lighting with torch and knocking on our windows.

I guess Vadu Izei (sweet small valley just next to border) doesn’t see many cars on Polish car plates with three people spending night in too often. The most funny part was that in between those villages those boys were taking pictures of us with mobile phones. Finally only totally ignoring them gave the results (explanation “bambino dormir” didn’t help much).

But morning was so sweet! Warm sun, cold river, first breakfast outside (with warm tea and coffee, made on our cooker). Hanna was the most impressed by “beee beee” sounds coming from our night visitors flock of sheep.

We decided to see more of this villages. It’s just 6km from Sighetu Marmatiei (border crossing) but the only place where traditional huge wooden gates full of crafts and thatched roofs still survived. And women with their hands are working on the fields. A bit like time would stopped there…
