YEAH-erevan
In the capital of Armenia we spend holidays during our holidays. Hostel of one friend and hotel of another friend gave us days of real relax.
Stepan we met three times in Georgia, day by day. First in Kazbegi, near to Russian border. Second time on the next day: in the mountains, on the track. Third time, on the following day, in Tbilisi, near the Ethnology Museum… Stepan together with his family is running a hostel in Yerevan. We knew that we have to visit him.
Hostel is not easy to be found, but that’s maybe part of the game. From outside: just a bigger family house. From inside: cosy, comfortable and very family-like hostel. Best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in any hostel and… lovely terrace with nice wind after hot hot days in Armenia. Hostel has no real name and people get to know about it from friends. Such a friends-friends house. But around 40 people can stay there at once. Great atmosphere, talkative mama, hiking advices (Stepan knows everything!), Hanna felt also great running there and back. Anyone which would like to sleep there, please contact us, we will give you email of Stepan.
Then we met in Yerevan old friend of my (Anna’s) family. Guy which in 90s spend some time in Poland, one of the most beloved uncles I ever had. Thanks to him we spend super holiday-like days in a hotel with swimming pool, washing machine and breakfast downstairs in the morning. Strange but not so bad change after our life in the car. Especially that the views were not worse than through our windows: while swimming one could watch Ararat Mountain all day long.
Yerevan was our base to discover other lovely corners of Armenia. Churches, chapels and monasteries – in the next post.
