In Oradea

An Oradea hero

Oradea, and our friends there, welcomed us with ciorbă, mămăligă and palincă . And shower, internet and washing mashine!

We stayed there for three nights, using hospitality of Geta and Boghdan. 1st of May we spend in traditional Romanian way – which means driving outside of the city and drinking beer. Very relaxed day.

Then visiting Oradea with oral guiding , the most we liked Citadela, which is even not described in our Lonely Planet!

Fulfilling our stomachs with ciorbă (which is a soup), mămăligă (which is a cornmeal mush, can be fried, boiled or baked) with cheese and sour cream and palincă (strong alcohol which has different names in different parts of Romania: horinca in Maramures and jinars in Cluj-Napoca), fulfilling our bags with clean clothes – we were ready for new adventures in other part of Romania. Direction: bear cave!

Welcome in Romania! I hope that you will have a great experience here.
I have a six month old little girl like Hanna and I know that is not so easy to make this kind of trip.
I appreciate your courage and I wish you good luck.

It looks like a nice city. Except for the street signs– I cant believe the city hangs large advertisements right below them! How tacky!
