Experiment with Amnesty International

Amnesty International video experiment: what happen when you look into eyes of a stranger for 4 minutes?

What happens when you look for 4 long minutes into the eyes of a stranger? WHAT?

“4 minutes of eye contact brings people closer to each other better than everything else” – said Arthur Aron, an American psychologist and within his experiments he proved that this time of uninterrupted eye contact increases intimacy.

It’s always nice to check it, nope? There were many people in Berlin, who wanted to do it (sorry, we couldn’t take everybody!!). Many of our friends, newcomers in Germany, also accepted the invitation and took part in the experiment. Thank you so much for it! And thanks to all the helpers and translators!

You want to see our little Hanna, our Syrian flatmate Akil and few more complete strangers, who have seen each other for the very first time in an old factory building in Berlin? Grab some tissues and push play:

For me, this video is an EXACT message, I would like to send to the world. I’m very very very happy I could have been a part of it (together Polish Amnesty International).

Please, help us to spread it. Shukran;)

Our first book is out!

We have published our first book (for now just in Polish:) about our Central America Trip.

its so wonderful to see this people, to see how they feel, thanks for sharing it
even if this special event is over, this kind of getting to know could be done everywhere and everyday again – where different people meet, share it with teachers, social workers, parents, …

My weakness is having an eye contact towards another person especially if they were boys or a stranger. So I strive myself to try this video, hoping it could help. It’s true when you have a long eye contact with that specific person, it seems like you know each other since before, and I really have a unique feeling the way I do it. Building up your personal relationship toward each others is through having an eye contact. Thanks for sharing this video. This really a big help to me.
