Georgia

Georgia is one of our favourite travel and holidays destination: We have been there the first time on our big car road trip »Around Black Sea Trip« in summer 2010.

The most amazing of Georgia are its people – hospitable, generous, helpful, smiling, wonderful! But there also some of the old churches in the world, the impressive Caucasus mountains with wild rivers, stunning valleys, yummy food and last but not least the adorable capital Tblissi.

In 2015 we also went for a skiing holidays to Gudauri. A good and wonderful alternative to the Alps.

However – Georgia is always worth a trip or a visit, also with kids!

Tbilisi is our old love. And while visiting “our” old places, we found out a very cool restaurant. As you might know, we are usually those, who can eat whatever and wherever. But this place is really worth a visit!

10 things to do in Gudauri, if not just skiing

Are ski holidays only for skiing people? Nope! Are places like Gudauri in Georgia only for skiing? Nope! Even if some member of your family doesn’t like to ski (or „just“ to ski), he can find quite some things to do in this Caucasus village (Gudauri).

– Can’t you go to Austria, Switzerland or Italy to ski, like all the normal people?! – some reacted like this on idea about Skiing in Georgia. Well. But Georgia is our beloved country, has amazing mountains, friendly people, wonderful food, good flight connections and cheap prices. And not everybody is skiing there ;) So Read More

Pregnancy and travel

Lately I have shared with you our sad pre-term stories. During that hard time I was thinking (much too much, like any other mother in this situation): if maybe I didn’t simply do too much during pregnancy: too much of sports, too much of travels. But all of the doctors say the same: if the Read More

Was an amazing time. 9 countries, 6 months and 3 people (including our 1 sweet baby). We met the Gypsy King in Moldova, became good friends with a poor family in autonomous republic Transnistria, fell in love with Crimean landscape, hated corrupted Russian police, had a good rest in Chechenyan villages in Georgia, melt in Read More

After coming back to Georgia we decided to still jump out of Tbilisi for a short trip on the west from South Ossetia. First night in the tent and long fight to find a soup…

Georgian capital is the first place we seriously consider as a place to come back for longer. People, city structure, food – so many people have already told us that Tbilisi is “their place on earth”. Maybe ours too?

Many people on our way told us that we should make more babies because Hanna is so sweet and smart. So… we took it serious and our family without borders will come back to Berlin from the Black Sea trip a bit enlarged.

– Better not go to Pankisi valley just like this, people there are not so open – we heard in before. And during three our days there we had absolutely perfect hosts and we felt more welcome than anywhere.

First few hours in Georgia: absolutely lovely valley in Adjura and super friendly and helpful people (including whore-house staff and… the police). Did we find our place on earth?
